UMOM's Donation Center: A Community Hub

Since the grand opening of our Magnolia Street warehouse and donation center, UMOM has been working tirelessly to maximize the potential of this new space. Our mission is to ensure that we are serving our clients and the greater community in the most effective way possible. With that in mind, we've made some important updates to our donation process and the use of our warehouse.

Right now, we have the most urgent* need for the following items (in order of need):

  1. 3t-4t and 4t-5t Disposable Training Pants (Pull-Ups)

  2. Dish Soap (in 6-10 ounce containers)

  3. Bath Towels

  4. Hand Towels

  5. Bathmats (example bathmat)

  6. Toilet Paper

*Last Updated 8/7/24.

By focusing on these items, we can streamline our operations and ensure that our clients receive the essentials they need without delay. You can view the full list of accepted items at umom.org/donate-items.

For our clients, the journey doesn't end when they leave UMOM. Our warehouse ensures they have the necessary items to transition smoothly into stable housing. From furniture to household supplies, we provide the essentials to help them start their new chapter on the right foot. Thank you for your continued support of UMOM and our mission to end homelessness. Your donations and partnerships make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve. Together, we are building a stronger, more supportive community.

If would like to donate items on our most-needed list, or set up a group donation drive, you’re welcome to drop those off Monday through Friday between 9am and 3pm.

If you’re not sure if your items are a good fit for UMOM, we’re happy to speak with you! Please contact us at donationcenter@umom.org.

Celebrating 60 years

This year marks an extraordinary milestone for UMOM New Day Centers as we celebrate our 60th anniversary! Our theme, "Shine Bright," draws inspiration from the enduring value of a diamond, symbolizing resilience, strength, and inner worth—qualities we see in the families we serve every day.

To honor this remarkable journey and the legacy we've built together, we invite you to join us for a special evening at The Phoenix Art Museum. Come celebrate with us on September 20 from 6pm to 10pm as we reflect on our past, embrace our present, and look forward to a shining future.

Nationwide & The Nationwide Foundation

Nationwide's Commitment to Ending Homelessness: Partnering with UMOM New Day Centers

Nationwide and the Nationwide Foundation are proud supporters of UMOM New Day Centers, an organization dedicated to providing safe shelter, housing, and supportive services to homeless families and individuals in Arizona. UMOM's comprehensive programs range from emergency shelter to permanent, affordable housing, offering a continuum of care that helps participants achieve stability and self-sufficiency.

Nationwide’s financial contributions fund these vital programs, ensuring positive outcomes for participants and the wider community. In addition, Nationwide sponsors UMOM’s Signature Gala, which celebrates 60 years of impactful work and raises essential funds to combat family homelessness in Arizona.

This collaborative effort highlights Nationwide’s commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness and raising awareness about this critical issue. Together, we can create a community where everyone has a safe place to call home.

Established in 1959, the Nationwide Foundation functions as a nonprofit, private foundation with contributions from Nationwide companies. The foundation aims to enhance the quality of life in communities where a considerable number of Nationwide members, associates, partners, and their families reside and work. This objective harmonizes well with UMOM's mission to establish secure, supportive spaces for individuals facing homelessness.

For over 90 years, Nationwide and the Nationwide Foundation has safeguarded individuals, businesses, and futures. Originating as a small mutual auto insurance company, it has evolved into one of the world's largest insurance and financial services enterprises.
