UMOM Highlights the Impact of Long-Time Volunteer and Phoenix Resident, Steve Hudson
Former Vice President turns community service into a second career, empowering hundreds with professional skills

Phoenix, AZ – UMOM New Day Centers, the largest family and single women’s shelter in Arizona, is proud to highlight the exceptional contributions of one of its most dedicated volunteers and Phoenix resident, Steve Hudson, whose commitment to workforce development and mentorship has been instrumental in transforming lives.
After a distinguished 40-year career at American Express, where he reached the role of vice president and earned the nickname "Mr. Community Service" for his involvement on local community boards, Hudson chose to direct his energies toward volunteerism. For the past 18 years, he has been a cornerstone of UMOM's Workforce Development program.

Hudson’s weekly efforts involve crafting 10-20 professional resumes and conducting mock interviews, significantly boosting job readiness among UMOM's clients. His expertise not only enhances their professional profiles but also bolsters their confidence, enabling them to secure gainful employment and achieve economic independence.
Hudson’s commitment to service extends beyond UMOM. For the last 28 years, he has also been a mentor with Big Brother, Big Sister, dedicating his time to guide and support his "little brothers." His long-term involvement in this program highlights his unwavering dedication to helping others achieve their full potential.
