Happy Women’s History Month!
March is Women's History Month, a time to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of women throughout history. At UMOM New Day Centers, we proudly honor the resilience and strength of women in our community. As a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing shelter and support to those experiencing homelessness, we recognize the unique challenges faced by women in need. In 2017, we opened the Halle Women's Center, the first Arizona shelter designed specifically for single women, offering a safe and stable space for women to rebuild their lives. This March, we pay tribute to the incredible women who have walked through our doors and the inspiring women who continue to shape our community
Arizona Gives Day is Approaching
There is still time to make a real difference to those in need.
Your gift to UMOM helps families get into shelter to restore hope and rebuild their lives.
Right now, 379 families are waiting for emergency shelter. That means hundreds of kids in our community are sleeping in cars or motels, on couches, or even on the street.
This Arizona Gives Day, we’re aiming to raise $75,000 to help families get off the waitlist, into shelter, and ultimately into a safe, stable home.
By donating to UMOM on Arizona Gives Day, you not only support our cause but also become eligible for a tax credit on your Arizona state taxes for either 2023 or 2024.
Construction has Begun!
We are thrilled to share that exciting changes are happening on our UMOM campus! Renovations have officially begun on two buildings, which will now feature larger rooms to better accommodate families in need.
But that's not all - we will also be adding new computer labs for both adults and children on our campus, as well as a dedicated lab for the Halle Women's Center. We can't wait to see the positive impact these new resources will have on our clients. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to make a difference in the lives of those we serve!
Join us at the Phoenix Zoo lakeside for a fun-filled day for the entire family with a one-of-a-kind block party as Crisco Kidd, 101.1 The Bounce rocks the block and gets the party started! In the spirit of UMOM’s 60th Year Anniversary we are challenging all supporters to raise $60.00 to help us end family homelessness! Individuals and teams that meets that challenge will get entered for a chance to win terrific prizes!

To highlight the year, UMOM will host our Signature Gala, where we’ll be honoring 60 years of impact with a special ode to the legacy our donors have helped us provide a full slate of vital services that supports our families. Join us for a sparkling evening as we look back on UMOM’s journey over these 60 brilliant years and get a glimpse into our exciting plans for the next 60 years and more!
Expect to indulge in delicious food and drinks, hear inspiring UMOM success stories, and participate in our live auction hosted by the one and only "Auctiontainer" Letitia Frye.

Introducing: The Arizona Pet Project
This is Streak!
This amazing service dog moved into shelter with his humans, and we celebrate the joy he brings to our UMOM community!
The Arizona Pet Project (AZPP) has partnered with UMOM as a lifeline for vulnerable individuals and households with pets at our shelters. It's a reality that many people will sacrifice their own needs for their companion animals, and the AZPP is determined to ensure that nobody is put in a position where they have to choose between caring for themselves or their pets.
Some of AZPP services include pet deposits, landlord or housing requirements, including vaccines, licenses, spay/neuter, temporary boarding, food, supplies, urgent veterinary care (to ensure families don’t have to choose between rent/utility money or caring for their companion).
We are excited and more than thrilled to have the AZPP at UMOM to assist with tending to our animals like Streak!
