Rapid Rehousing
UMOM is on a mission to end homelessness and strengthen our community by connecting tenants to vacant units. Together, we can make it happen.
Did you know there are more than 3,700 individuals experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County, according to Family Housing Hub’s 2018-2019 statistics?
“Helping residents find homes has a positive ripple effect that benefits our entire city.” – Mayor Kate Gallego, City of Phoenix
UMOM New Day Centers in Arizona’s innovative leader in homeless services. Families, single women, and youth experiencing homelessness access emergency shelter, supportive services, and housing resources through UMOM.
Over the past 11 years, Rapid Rehousing has been recognized as one of the most effective interventions for people experiencing homelessness.
UMOM uses this national housing model to stabilize people into sustainable, permanent housing, quickly and efficiently. Clients are fully supported through financial assistance, such as move-in costs and rental subsidies. Housing Stability Specialists support tenants in navigating their application, educating on lease responsibility, and connecting to community resources. Additionally, UMOM’s Workforce Development Team provides job readiness workshops, connection to childcare, and employment and retention support.
These types of services have proven to be beneficial to landlords and property owners – rapidly lowering vacancies, providing a rent guarantee, and an opportunity to be a solution in our community’s housing crisis. Additionally, landlord partners work directly with HOM, Inc., who has over 25 years of experience working with public and private partners, administering rental assistance and unparalleled landlord support.
For Local Property Owners & Landlords
We are in search of landlord partners with available units, ranging from studios to 4 bedrooms.
Marsha, a longtime UMOM partner and property manager of Palm Vista shared, “Sometimes people just need a life up, a second chance, an opportunity for a new start. We’re proud to be able to help and make a positive impact in our community.”
