Our Shelter Helpers do something amazing; they help sustain our mission of ending family homelessness. Each year their giving accumulates to something great, providing our families with essential items, shelter, and supportive services.

Learn about the different Shelter Helper levels:

A gift of $1,000/month (yearly) can fully cover the stay for a family of five. Your support will provide them with a safe private room, nourishing meals, and access to our full spectrum of life-changing services. You're not just giving shelter, you're giving hope, dignity, and a fresh start.

A gift of $500/month (yearly) can provide 2,400 nourishing meals for families living on UMOM’s campus. Our kitchen is a vital lifeline—providing two fresh, nourishing meals a day to families who depend on us. Your support keeps plates full, spirits high, and families healthy. Let’s make sure no one goes hungry!

A gift of $250/month (yearly) can provide 200 Hygiene Kits (shampoo, conditioner, soap, and toothpaste) to our families, ensuring they can stay clean and healthy while staying on campus!

A gift of $100/month (yearly) can provide 12 Move Out Kits for our families. These kits provide families with everything they need to be successful when they exit shelter and enter their new permanent housing.

A gift of $50/month (yearly) can provide 12 Welcome to Shelter Kits that are packed with everyday essentials that help families feel safe, cared for, and at home while living on campus.

A gift of $25/month (yearly) can provide 11 bed nights for a child experiencing homelessness.
Other Ways to Support UMOM
Tax Credit Donations
When you donate to UMOM, a 501(c)(3) organization, you help prevent and end homelessness while generating a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your state income tax! Meaning, a reduction in the state income taxes you owe. Single filers can give up to $495 and joint filers can give up to $987.
Workplace Giving
Giving made easy! Check to see if your company/organization has a workplace giving program. This is an easy, safe, and cost-efficient way to make tax-deductible donations through payroll deduction and matching gifts.
In-Kind Donations

At UMOM, we’re incredibly grateful for the passion and generosity of community members who want to support families experiencing homelessness. To ensure that every effort reflects our mission, protects the people we serve, and aligns with legal and ethical standards, we ask that all fundraising activities receive prior approval from UMOM.
This includes any online fundraising campaigns, such as GoFundMe, social media fundraisers, peer‑to‑peer drives, or any initiative that uses UMOM’s name, logo, or story. Unauthorized fundraising, no matter how well‑intentioned, can create confusion and may unintentionally misrepresent UMOM.
