Charitable Tax Credit
The State of Arizona offers you an annual Charitable Tax Credit. It’s different than a typical tax deduction: it gives you the power to tell the Arizona Legislature exactly how you’d like your tax dollars spent. Will you help prevent and end homelessness with your Tax Credit?
YOUR COMPASSION IN ACTION
- Helps provide critical shelter and housing services to more than 4,300 homeless families and single women.
- Helps at-risk youth create a brighter future.
- Reduces the average length of stay for families and women in emergency shelter.
- Helps prevent and end homelessness for families, single women and youth.
Individuals may contribute up to $400 per year, or up to $800 per year if filing jointly. You may take the credit when you file your annual tax returns, usually on or near the general tax filing date of April 15. UMOM’s Qualifying Charitable Organization Code is 20541. Donors are required to use this code when taking the tax credit on their income tax returns.
The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) offers and excellent Q & A on the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit Law (ARS 43-1088) that will give you even more information about how the tax credit works. You can also call ADOR’s Taxpayer Assistance hotline at 602-255-3381 or 800-352-4090.
