Here’s What’s Happening at UMOM

04/14/2020

Dear UMOM Family,

I hope that you are staying healthy and well! I wanted to give you all an update as to what’s been happening here on campus lately.

On Sunday, family, children and single women were gifted Easter goodie bags and local AZ Pops provided a sweet spring-time treat for youth to enjoy!

We have officially increased our family shelter capacity by 25 units, and will be serving a total of 160 families by the end of this week. There are still 155 families on the wait list for access to emergency shelter. 102 of those families are currently in an unsafe living environment or are living on the streets. We will continue to do intakes and maintain steady operations here at UMOM. We will continue to be a home for those who have no place to call home.

Your donations have been of the utmost importance in ensuring we are able to continue our daily operations. Thank you for making online purchases and sending your donations to us directly from Amazon and other online retailers! Though we are unable to see you here at UMOM right now, we are feeling the love from your support.

REMINDER: April 15th is the last day you can make an Arizona Charitable Tax Credit dollar-for-dollar donation! Individuals may contribute up to $400, and those filing jointly may contribute up to $800. Click on the button below to make your charitable tax credit donation!

As you know, our goal is to end homelessness by keeping our community members safe, healthy, and off the streets. But, we cannot do this on our own; we need your help. It’s increasingly crucial that our community can count on us for care and support.

Thank you for stepping up and supporting the families, children, and women who are experiencing homelessness right now in our community.

Gratefully,

Darlene Newsom, Chief Executive Officer
